I went to Tudor Grange Academy Kingshurst, part of the Tudor Grange Academies Trust.
Once finishing year 11, I was keen to go out into the workplace as I feel I’m a more practical person, and an apprenticeship seemed like a good way forward.
TGAK are part of a Managed Service run by Infinity Education, so I was aware of them when I was at school.
My first contact with Infinity though wasn’t my apprenticeship in the summer after I left school, I had the opportunity to help the cabling team undertake some large projects. I worked on a large Wi-Fi/Switching/cabling installation at a school in Solihull. This gave me a good base of how network infrastructure works, and when I was given the opportunity to take an apprenticeship with Infinity, I took it.
In my time at Infinity I have spent a lot of time in the Managed Service team, providing IT support to various Infinity schools. This has given me the opportunity to develop my knowledge in IT. I’ve also continued to help in cabling when necessary.
An apprenticeship with Infinity Education gave me the opportunity to combine work and study, allowing me to learn new skills and apply them in practice every day. So far, I have enjoyed meeting new people, building my confidence and gaining valuable experience. In the future, I’d like to learn the Sales process and potentially move into IT sales some day.
